Activities related to Phase 4 - Assessment

  • Organize an external mock audit.

    Towards the end of implementing the requirements of this phase, the complete quality management system of the laboratory needs to be audited by external, independent auditors (in an audit called a mock audit). This external audit will provide an independent insight into how close the laboratory is to accreditation and identifies gaps in the system that still need attention.

    It is the task of the management to arrange this mock audit.
  • Make an action plan following the report of the external mock audit.

    Follow the same procedure as used for internal audits by translating the findings of the external mock audit into action points in an action plan to eliminate the remaining gaps in the system.

    This is the task of the management.
